Help the cats this Xmas

I know this is a little different from my normal posts on this blog but this has really touched my heart and I wanted to help out as much as I could. A friend of mine said the following:

Spain does not have a very good record of caring for animals and we have seen some of the most appalling cruelty here – a cat thrown into a cage at a killing station and left with it’s paw trapped in the steel door, and in unbelievebale pain, for 6 days! A lovely cat left deaf and and with it’s head shaking permanently after being kicked! Kittens thrown into rubbish bins and left to die a slow death in the heat of a Spanish summer. Two others thrown out of a moving car! So it goes on . . .

Sharon works with some people in Switzerland who raise money and try to re-home as many as they can. She spends many hours trapping, treating and castrating wild cats in order to reduce the problem of more unwanted and suffering kittens. She arranges for abandoned and unwell cats to be treated and moved into loving and caring homes in Switzerland and Germany where they will be loved for the rest of their lives. We have fostered probably 60 or 70 cats ourselves, driven transports of animals to Switzerland and flown back and forward with some great animals for people who only want to give them love and care.

All of this costs money. At this time of giving, would you please forget photography for just a few minutes and do me the honour of devoting a very small amount of time to look at her new website where there is much more detail and many more stories of both sadness, humanity and triumph?

Of course, if you can help, we would be delighted. If you can’t but care enough to pass details of the site on to friends and family who maybe can, it would be fantastic!

Christmas is a time for loving and giving but, just because they can’t write a note to Santa Claus, don’t think that these poor creatures can’t use gifts, no matter how small. While you are tucking in to your roasties and drinking your mulled wine, there are hundreds of cats and kittens huddled up somewhere outside, cold, wet, dirty, injured or ill. Your help would be so good!

So in admiration of the wonderful job that these people have done and are still doing for these loving creatures, I wanted to do my share and spread the word! Can you help?

Visit the Animal Rescue and remember, sharing is caring!
